ABOUT US

Personal

Family
Mike lives in Dublin, OH with his wife, Seline, and their new baby girl, Mila Lucie, who was born in April 2023. They also have an adorable Chiweenie (half chihuahua and half weiner dog) who weighs 10 pounds and looks like the Taco Bell dog.

Why he became a financial advisor
Although it may seem ridiculous, Mike knew he wanted to be a financial advisor by age 10. Seriously, ask any of his family members or close friends! As a child, the idea of being able to invest in a company like McDonalds (instead of just being a customer) was fascinating to Mike. He could make money while the world was buying Happy Meals, amazing.

His Hero
Not surprisingly, one of Mike’s heros has always been the great Warren Buffet. Coincidentally, he and Warren were born on the same day, August 30th. Warren’s authenticity, straightforward approach, and passion for investing were appealing to Mike, and many feel he shares those same qualities. Whenenver the financial world seems to be falling appart, Warren’s appeal to principal and reason make him one of the greatest investors of all time.

Work experience

Caligiuri Financial
Mike started Caligiuri Financial over five years ago with the goal of serving a niche clientele of physicians. The majority of households he works with have at least one physician in them. Mike specializes in working with physicians in all stages of life, but most come to him soon after completing their medical training. Based in Dublin, OH, Mike has given financial education presentations to physicians at hospitals in the greater Columbus, OH area. He has clients in 10+ states, 15+ hospitals, and several private physician groups. His insights have been referenced by many respected news outlets such as Bloomberg, Forbes, and CNBC.

Hamilton Capital Management
Before starting Caligiuri Financial, Mike served as an advisor at one of the largest Registered Investment Advisors (RIA) in the United States, Hamilton Capital. He earned his CFP® certification within approximately a year and was promoted from an associate financial advisor to a financial advisor. At 27, Mike served as the lead advisor on many client relationships. He also earned the Enrolled Agent tax designation, which is the highest status awarded by the Internal Revenue Service.

J.P. Morgan Private Bank
After graduating from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, Mike served high net worth clients at JP Morgan Private Bank in downtown Chicago. At the time, J.P. Morgan was awarded the most highly rated Private Bank in the world. Mike earned his Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Mike was asked to pitch a stock during his interview series with JP Morgan in 2013. He pitched Whole Foods, which was eventually acquired by Amazon after much success. Later that year, Mike was asked to pitch another stock, and he chose Tesla. After his presentation, the banker/executive director who led the stock pitch competition said she was going to buy shares of Tesla – Mike won the competition. He was then asked to spend time on the investment desk to learn about pitching stocks to high net worth clients.
